Muslim Aid held a Volunteer and Citizenship Award Ceremony in London on July 2. The focal point of the evening was a presentation of awards to Muslim Aid volunteers in recognition of their creative talents and hard work in different categories.

Ten awards were also given to volunteers from the Pathway to Citizenship Programme, a Muslim Aid UK development partnership with London Councils (LCC). Over 300 guests, including Muslim Aid Trustees, heads of community associations and media representatives attended the event.

The award for the Volunteer of the Year was conferred on Kamal Miah for his outstanding performance and dedication to Muslim Aid’s work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Muslim Aid Chairman Sir Iqbal Sacranie paid rich tributes to the hundreds of volunteers. He also thanked them for their invaluable contribution in raising funds for the Charity and promoting awareness about Muslim Aid’s charitable projects at home and overseas.

Affirming Muslim Aid’s commitment to the volunteers, the Chairman said: “Our volunteers are an important reflection of the Organisation in the way we serve the community through individual and team efforts.”

The event was part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Muslim Aid.
